taking the side molding off
 

I need to take the side molding off my old fender and then put it on my new one. im not real sure the best way to get it off my guess is to heat it up and run fishing line behind it. ??? then once i get it off im completely lost on how to put it on the new one and get it to stay.

to get it back on, go to your local hardware store and buy some of the thin 3M double sided adhesive! Clean both surfaces up real good, then stick away! just make sure to get it on the right place! lol

that stuff strong enough to hold it on like when i was my car and such? i really only need it to last me for like 6 months max because i dont plan on having the car too long but im sure whoever buys it will be pissed if it goes flying off.

i think it just peels off. that double sided tape is holding it on from the factory. and installation is easy. just put some more double sided tape and push it on real good. mine's been on fine for about 6 months.

when I get mine repainted, that stuff is coming off, methinks.

Well I was told when I had a scratch on my rear fender then I will need get to the new trim because by taking the old off and putting it back on it wont hold as well as it did before.. I dunno lol

everyone I know takes it off and leaves it off, but **** I got enough door dings as it is, atleast that stops me from getting more.

i feel the same way

well, my car won't be getting a lot of abuse after its been painted, so i'm not caring about the door dings. It doesn't help those that much anyway.

the 3m thin trim adhesive tape will hold fine, if the part is clean, and the area to be applied is clean (use laquer thinner, and wax and grease remover)the hard part is taking it off without stretching use a putty knife and a heat gun and go slow
