Used RK-Sport CA-100 body kit question...

Hey guys. I wast just wondering ... My buddy will sell this rk-sport ca-100 body kit for 300 bucks to me if I want. It's painted green, SLIGHTLY scratched (only through the paint), and the plastic pins are all in it still. I was just wondering what it takes to install a body kit and if it makes it any harder with the fact that it is used (other than the fact that I have to sand and paint it).

Is that a good deal too? I know they are 600 new so I assume so ... Unless used ones are hard to install ... Thanks!

Oh, and what do you guys think of this kit anyway?

Unless it's been major abused then a used kit shouldn't be too much trouble. It's all urathane anyway and urathane will last. I think the beiggest thing to concider is that you will have to repaint it. Than may be some $$$. But $300 for the kit sounds resonable. I persoanlly think that kit is a little bland but some people like that kinda thing.

Alright! Seems like all you guys think it's a good deal and good kit, so I just have to think some more if I can afford it. I'm still kinda wondering about the paint ... Can you guys give me a ballpark price for getting a kit painted?

When you buy a new body kit package, do they come with any other little pieces besides the side skirts, rear valance and front spoiler? Because (obviously), this guy has only the 4 pieces ... I'm just curious if normally it comes with any installation parts or anything

not a bad price, if its what you want I say go for it.

How do you install a body kit? ... Think I can do it or should a shop? ... does it involve drilling little holes under the body for the plastic pins to stick into or something? ...

Still, anyone know a ball-park price I can expect to paint the kit?

blue89vert 03-08-2006 05:51 PM

if you do prep work yourself it wouldn't be a huge expense to get em painted

Well, I can tell you from having just installed my ground effects last night, :D .....It's definitely something that you and another friend can do yourself. First off, 300 bucks is a good price for that kit considering the cheapest you could get a kit like mine is $700. It shouldn't cost much more than $250-$300 to have them painted. I guess it all depends on the place that does the painting, as these prices can vary quite a bit. If you sand them down and prep them real good it might be a little cheaper.

As far as installing them, aside from the plastic clips, you will need to go buy some 3M double-sided tape to re-install on the back side of them. That's what holds them on before attaching the clips, and between the two, they should hold very well. If you do decide to buy them, PM me when you're ready to put them on and I'll reply with some detailed instructions to help you get them on properly.:)
