1988 Yamaha YSR50 - "The original street legal pocket bike"

1988 YSR50, Canadian Bike WITH ONTARIO OWNERSHIP!!!
All stock
5 spd
LOTS of thread left on the tires
14,XXX kms on the odometer
A lot of original parts are included on the bike including; headlight, taillight, oil-mix bottle, horn, ignition switch w/key, kickstand, windshield, battery (old), aluminum gas cap with key, etc.
New Chain, flywheel cover, recent carb cleaning, transmission oil change,

The bike does need a couple things to be certified; mirror(s) and turn signals. Add your own custom mirrors and turn signals and you should be good to go! It starts and runs great except the clutch is slightly slipping if you accelerate hard to the higher RPMs. I am including another clutch with the bike. These bikes are very easy to work on, instruction manuals and tips all online.

Also, the bike was originally repainted blue and yellow by the previous owner (frame was painted yellow, body painted blue). It could certainly use a new paint job since it's scuffed and scratched in areas (no dents in tank).

This is an excellent 95% complete project for someone who wants to personalize their YSR and have it on the road immediately.

Hate to sell this bike, but I just don't have the space for it.

Price is $1000 FIRM, as is. Serious Inquiries only, no test pilots.

For anyone unfamiliar with these bikes, they are becoming very rare (especially with the ownership). There are new age body kits you can buy for them, including R1 or GSX-R. Insurance is very cheap... I just paid $390 for the year! that's about $1.00 a day! Since it is a 50cc bike, you can swap in a bigger motor and still be paying for 50cc insurance.
Parts can be purchased through any Yamaha motorcycle dealer. These bikes are very good on gas, and are excellent to take to go-kart tracks (with competition tires) to practice and learn with. On the street, this bike gets tons of attention, add your own paint scheme and you'll have a very unique ride.
