Cheap Car hauler

I am looking at buying a trailer since I now have a daily driver that I can tow with, so the big truck gets to go to a new owner.

Its an 84' Ford F350 Dually Chassis cab with a ramp bed. It has 210,000 miles on it. It has a non original 351 2brl and automatic in it (originally a diesel truck) that runs good and doesn't smoke. Oil pressure is a little low when hot with only 10 psi idle, 30psi running, but these engines only made 40 psi when new. Its a factory 8:1 compression motor so it runs on regular without complaint. The engine is kind of sludgy inside so I have been changing the oil every 1000 miles to clean it out. Its getting better but still has sludge. The valve covers leak oil, but I will replace the gaskets which should take care of the problem.

It is legally a non catalyst vehicle since it is registered at over 4500kg gvw and is pre 86'. It also does NOT require yearly safety checks or a log book. Insurance for me is only about $50 a month for it. Its registered for a 11,000lbs GVW and weighs just over 6500lbs. Its title is lists the truck as a 84' Ford F350 2wd - so the insurance treats it like a full size pickup.

It also a Dana 70HD rear in it with duals in the rear and heavy duty springs. Its running a 3.54 rear gear.

Body on the truck is good, with new fenders, doors, and a drivers floor. It was quickly painted with enamel just to make it one color and keep it from rusting. Frame is good, bed is good, but has obviously seen lots of use. I forget the manufacturer of the bed, but there is a tag on it you can look at. Its well made and works great. There is an 1 year old 8000lb winch mounted on the bed which works great and I made new heavy duty ramps last year.

Its a work truck so I never tried to make it pretty. Paint is bad but makes the truck all one color.

In the last year I have replaced the front pads, master cylinder, some brake lines, e-brake cables, the tranny lines redid the lights, replaced the doors, floors, fenders, radiator, new batteries, glass, new winch, front heavy duty springs, and more.

Its very reliable and actually decent on gas once you are on the highway. Toronto to mosport is $40 in gas last year loaded (there and back). In the city it sucks gas.

I have to do a few things to it. Its going to need some tires in the near future and have to replace the rear wheel cylindes since one is seeping. Same side needs a new e-brake cable since it broke and is the only one left that was not replaced. One tie rod is getting loose and should be replaced and the truck aligned. I have the parts except the tie rod but just have not had the time to do it. The thing leaks oil from the valve covers and transmission fluid from the pan gasket. Both easy fixes.

The truck could be nice with a minimum of work, and is very reliable. I have driven it to NY, Michigan, and all over southern ontario without a problem. Its basically only driven when its hauling a car also, and you can't tell a car is on the back - except it rides much smoother!

Its much nicer to drive than a truck and trailer, and safer. Good work truck - you could probally make the purchase price back on the truck by summer hauling scrap cars. The all steel bed and big winch means you can pull pretty much anything up onto it.

I just don't need it anymore.

$2500 obo as-is
