FS: 1995 Ford Contour GL V6

1995 Ford Contour GL

The good:
- 170hp Duratec 2.5L 24V DOHC V6, provides good power, makes for a pretty quick car.
- 4 speed automatic transmission with overdrive, good for cruising on the highway.
- Power windows, mirrors, locks, brakes (yes, thats right... power brakes), and steering.
- ABS and Traction Control
- Cruise Control
- 4 wheel disc brakes (rare option), newer rotors and pads on all 4 corners
- New windsheild
- Recently replaced tires
- New exhaust midpipe
- No rust at all
- Was certified and emission tested this time last year
- New alternator

The bad:
- 200,000km (just turned 200k last week)
- Needs new rear struts (common on these cars)
- E-brake doesn't work. It has new e-brake cables, something might have slipped, I don't know what... but it should be a relatively easy fix.
- Needs a front bumper cover. The current one is scratched to hell. It got in a little fender bender a few weeks ago... the unibody was not damaged at all, it needed a plastic bumper support, headlight panel, and a corner light. Other then the bumper cover, the car is fine.
- The passenger side door lock is the only working lock on the car... the car must a) be unlocked from that door, b) left unlocked all the time or c) have the drivers side door lock replaced.

This car would make a good first car, daily driver, or winter/summer beater. I know these cars have a bad rep, but we have two on the driveway and they haven't given us a problem at all. With proper maintenance and a relaxed driving style, this car should provide at least another few years of pure unrestricted driving excitement  Similar cars are listed on trader.ca for $2500+

Price: $1500obo, non-cert, non-etested

I can perform the work necessary to certify the car at an added cost.

Car is identical to this, except the front bumper is scratched and ours has aluminum wheels:

Price drop to $1000 firm

Needs minor work, but should be rewarding for those willing to fix it up a bit. For under $2000 you could have a perfectly reliable daily driver on the road.
