For Sale: 1991 Mazda Protege SE

Hey guys/gals,
I need to make room for the beautiful car I just bought, so I'm putting my old daily driver up for sale.

I'm selling a 1991 Protege SE (fancy sporty model). It has a power sunroof, power mirrors, spoiler... and thats about it for features :D. It was last certified in November 2006, so it shouldn't need much for certification, and I can take care of doing so if you want (more money though).

The car has a lot of mileage on it (330,000km), but you would never tell from the way it drives. I drove this car to and from Hamilton every day without second guessing it, it's been very reliable for me. It's good on gas (30mpg+) and a very cheap car to operate in terms of up-keep and insurance. It's great in the snow and the heat blows hot which make it a great car for the winter. It has air conditioning, but it doesn't work as is the case with most cars this age. This car is a blast to drive, it handles very well and is pretty peppy. I've performed a compression test on the engine and each cylinder is indentical at 155psi. I usually have to top the oil up every few weeks, but nothing excessive. The 5-speed manual transmission shifts smooth and without any grinds. There are a few minor rust spots on the body, but nothing bigger then a toonie, and no structural rust through (typical surface rust however).

It comes with two sets of wheels, a set 14x6" Miata alloy wheels (made by Enkei) that will need new tires soon, and a set of winter tires with lots of tread life left on them.

The following are things I have replaced since I began driving it in November:
- front brakes (pads and rotors)
- hard brake lines to the rear of the car
- drivers side rear performance strut
- front stabilizer bar links
- catalytic converter
- cat-back exhaust and muffler
- cap, rotor, plug wires and spark plugs
- radiator

Things it may need for certification:
- it *might* need a windshield, since there is a crack along the base under the wipers and out of the driver's view. The shop I took it to passed the car because it wasn't in the line of sight. Hopefully it will be the same for you.
- the gas tank drips a bit when you have the gas tank filled to capacity. I can provide a new gas tank for around $50.
- It might need other things, but I haven't inspected the car recently.

Looking for $1250 OBO (E-tested only)
