1982 Z28 BODY. Suggestions Wanted

I have a 1982 Z28 T-Top Camaro. Right now its just a body. No motor and no transmission. It came standard with the 305 v8. But i thought about putting a big block in it. Or just putting a base 350 and turning around and selling it since i only have 300$ in it. The car is in GREAT shape and charcoal gray. It has a 6inch Cowl induction hood and brand new tires. I was looking for sum performance suggestions for it. Wat should i drop in it. and i want it to go back with a 5spd. and rear gears i was gona put 4.10 or 3.55 i dono which to use tho. Anyone know wat i should do to this car in there personal opinion. I cant make up my own mind lmao. I have a budget limit of 6k. lol so....help?

big block can be done, but is a tight fit, and will take alot of fab work. You can build a small block that will be very healthy and drive it, just make sure and get some weld in sub frame connectors given the t tops most any engine will twist that body

yeah steve is exactly right. a big block most likely wouldn't be a good choice with a 6k limit. the engine itself wouldn't cost 6k but having a trans built could add up to a good hunk of money and a good rear end can cost around 2000. just my opinion once again. i say build a nice 383 stroker or just throw some bolt ons on a 350. the 350 would be the most money wise choice of the three. If you plan on having more than 200hp lol def. get subframe connectors. these cars twist like preztels with any power.
