1st time hit. And...

All I can say is HOLY ****!!!:eleph: I finally got all the nitrous wiring finished minus the bottle heater. On my way home from work this morning I hit the nitrous for the first time. I am still grinning as I am typing this! All the time and hard work payed off big time. After I turned onto the bridge near my house, I noticed a nice big gap in traffic and a 05-06 mustang in my rear view mirror. Sure enough the Mustang got right beside me, so I gave the system a nice big purge. The stang still wanted to play, so I shifted into second and let the nitrous flow. The first thing that happened is the rear broke loose and shot me sideways, so I straightened it out and shifted into third. The same thing happened! (Just not as bad) By the time I was revving at about 5200 rpm's in fourth, the race wasn't even worth taking part in anymore. The stang caught up with me a few miles down the road at a Chevron and wanted to talk. We chatted for a couple minutes about cars then he went on his way. I think I broke his heart.:D

The car feels like a completely different machine when it's on the nitrous. I don't think I could move my head if I wanted to. The way it plants you in your seat is awesome! I didn't notice anything out of the ordinary after I got home and after the spray everything returned back to normal. No change in idle, no clicking, no clunks...nothing. I guess all the safety items were a good decision.

And one more thing...WOO HOO!!

Mike Jones 05-19-2007 11:12 AM

Congrats, there's absolutly nothing like the first time you hit the nitrous.

Bernotas05 05-19-2007 11:52 AM

:nawz: Woot. Sounds sweet man, I hope to someday throw a system on my car. I was in a few cars on the juice and it was awesome I'm sure its nothing like being behind the wheel controling that though.

toofazt 05-19-2007 02:08 PM

Man, you're making me want to go back to my old idea of nitrous! I was toying with the idea of a 100 shot a couple of months ago but never got around to it. If you don't mind, what kit are you using and what was the final cost after you got it installed and everything?

Phate 05-19-2007 02:30 PM

I love my spray. And now you're addicted by the way.

98CamaroZ28 05-19-2007 04:16 PM

:D You might need to go to Rehab after this addiction, I hope this addiction doesn't kill you... :lolsign:

ITSA6 05-19-2007 07:43 PM

jealous i am sounds sweet

FORCE_FED_Z 05-19-2007 07:49 PM

I can attest to the power the addiction...When I took the car out and got on it the first time I was actually a little scarred- I didn't think it would make that much of a difference.

Congrats- I'm glad it was a successful hit for you...my only advice is keep the jets safe and don't pop the motor!! Unless you are just looking for an excuse to rebuild and run bigger jets of course!!:)

The kit I am using is from Harris Speed Works. I chose the LT1 Brute Force kit due to the bigger solenoids and the ability to customize the entire kit. It is currently jetted for a 100 shot. Look at my other post for some installed pics and more info.

After it was all said and done, I am probably into my kit about $1500 mainly because of all the extras I bought. (Billet bottle brackets, Mount, Dual Purge, Filter Kit, NGK TR6 plugs, Mallory 685, Bottle heater, Special order fittings, Etc...) You could definetly spray for alot less money, but I wanted to get it right the first time around.

Sinister95Z 05-19-2007 08:16 PM

Also...One way I did cut some of the cost was installing everything by myself.

paarman97maro 05-19-2007 08:42 PM

Thats awesome

2000v6cam 05-19-2007 09:12 PM

woody80z28 05-20-2007 12:57 PM

I need laughing gas.....

That ZEX perimeter injection carb plate kit is calling my name. 100-300 shot adjustable.

MeenZ28 05-20-2007 01:27 PM

God you're making me want some now....

Sinister95Z 05-20-2007 03:08 PM

Go for it Grant. I promise that you will not regret it. Not only does it perform, but it looks cool as hell under the hood.

I just hit it again on my way home this morning. Why? Because I can and it makes me go fast! Woo Hoo!

69z-28 05-20-2007 07:09 PM

blue89vert 05-20-2007 09:13 PM

im jealous

FORCE_FED_Z 05-22-2007 04:06 PM

I read a very good sig on another site- I'm sure a lot of you have already seen it or heard something like it... I think it sums up using Nitrous to a 'T', esp if you are running more than 125 shot on a stock motor...

"A big shot of Nitrous is like a hot chick with an STD, You want to hit it, but you're afraid of the consequences...."

Sinister95Z 05-22-2007 05:29 PM

LOL...So funny yet so true.

69z-28 05-22-2007 08:41 PM

i think that quote was the first nitrous discussed topic on the internet, prolly back in the 90's when it was invented.lol. sorry. but ya very true

Shodown 05-25-2007 03:35 AM

Glad to hear that you like it man.

I remember my first hit of nitrous.....it didnt even work :banghead: Hahahahaha

Sinister95Z 05-25-2007 10:22 AM

After all the time I took to make sure everything was perfect, if it didn't work I would have been very very angry. It would have been like a slap in the face.

To say the least, I am extremely happy that it worked the first time and continues to work daily.

Just dont forget to open the bottle and you'll be fine LOL.

I dont remember the first time I hit it, but I do remember the first time (2 weeks ago) I hit the new and improved dual stage 125....that was memorable

sman 05-26-2007 07:13 PM

Dualstage? Im new to the nos world, what the heck is that?

Sinister95Z 05-27-2007 10:38 AM

Dual Stage nitrous is simply explained as two different hits of nitrous at two different desired windows of RPM's. The first hit is at a really low rpm to get quicker 60 ft. times and the second hit is at a higher rpm added to the first hit to accomplish overall faster times.

Alot of people actually use two different types of hits as well (One dry/One wet).

Perfect explanation.

silverbullet 09-19-2007 11:14 PM

very nice story, and congrats...

a very dumb question i have though, is it illegal to have a visible nitrous setup in your car, like have the bottle in your car trunk?

paarman97maro 09-19-2007 11:17 PM

I think for street use, yes. Some cops will get about it.

98CamaroZ28 09-19-2007 11:28 PM

Nitrous is like a hella of a drug http://www.nettjuristen.no/Forum2000...le_smoking.gif:gears: :launch:

i got pulled over 4 different times for misc. BS and everytime, the cop asked about the bottle behind my seat. "Is that nitrous..." yep.haha. i told the cop i was going to get it filled and that was that.

Thule 09-20-2007 04:07 PM

damn man.. great fun to read this,

i cant wait to install the nitrous kit on my H/C/I motor and crack the 500rwhp barrel

red9450 09-20-2007 06:47 PM

I LOVE NAWS!!!! lol. but really man, it's always fun the first time, but you become a junkie, and end up going to rehab. lol

Mike Jones 09-20-2007 06:53 PM

Yeah nitrous is definitly addicting. That's why the best thing to do is go forced induction.

Sinister95Z 09-22-2007 03:22 AM

This is an old thread. I actually forgot about this one...
