hllywd 06-18-2007 09:27 PM

I thought it was if you had a v6 it was 3 and if u had a ls1 it was 4 ? or maybe something to do with a lsd?

traction control = 4 channel = traction control and abs(this is what you have)
3 channel = abs w/o traction control

Yup, that's why I was asking if you had traction control.

Are you buying a 12 bolt?

What made u decide to go with the Dana S60? I'm lookin at my options for a new rear end right now lol

hllywd 06-19-2007 06:34 AM

Everything I looked at looks stronger and everyone says its pretty bullitproof. Oh and its slightly cheaper.

theres a whole sticky i think on ls1tech or camaroz28. basically with a 3 channel, you have abs sensors in the front, one on each wheel then on that drops in the top of the rear end and reads a gear attached to the ring gear i beleive.

on a 4 channel rear end, theres 2 in the front again, then since it has traction control, there are reluctor rings attatched to each axle near the backing plates and it measures the speeds at the different wheels which is traction control. so theres your 3 channel vs. 4 channel.
