single exit exhaust? what headers/exhaust do you have?

digiphaze 12-14-2005 09:54 PM

Sounds awesome at idle.. But not sure what to think of the high rpm sound. Guess thats pretty inevitable with a 6cyl though.

Would a Similar setup on the 3.8 sound any better you think?

3PointSlow 12-16-2005 02:43 PM

No. Traditionally, the 3.8's are very hard to make sound good. But that's just hat most people say. I post this video on camaroz28.com, and people say "too bad my 3.8 would sound shitty with all that..", and that kind of thing. But people also say that the 3.4 is a dog. But look what people have done with them. Best thing to do is look for sound clips of 3.8's with a variety of setups to see if you can get something to work that you like. And if you like it, then don't worry if anyone else doesn't. Don't get discouraged, though, the best 3.8 may not sound better than a good 3.4, but it may still sound good.

^^exhaust clips

Mods are: Flowmaster 2.5" American Thunder with single exit exhaust w/ a 40 series flowmaster muffler, PaceSetter Midlength Headers (painted, not ceramic coated. In other words, the cheaper ones), Magnaflow High Flow Cat, 160* stat, and K&N CAI.

The reason it is single is because I could not get the dual setup to work with my 40 series. I was not willing to put on the 80 series it came with, because I don't think they sound good. Someday I'll do a custom 2.75" or 3" dual exhaust and makie it work with my 40 series.

Thaks for the nice comments, guys.
