3.8 Intake Electric Thingy
Im making a cold air intake for my car (3.8). There is a sensor in the stock cold air intake (referring to the pipe right before the maf) I assume its an air temps sensor or something. Does anybody know what it is, I need to know so I feel better about drilling a hole in my pipe and gluing it in. Regardless it should go in, right?
so your getting rid of that tipe that goes from the air box to the maf, and replacing it with a straight pipe? i was thinking about doing that but i was unsure on what kind of results i would get

in answer to your question...of course its required! the 3.8 has quite a few little sensors n such in front of the throttle body, but no matter which it is, it is definitely required.
If it's the same as a 3.4L IAT, you can purchase a specific resistor for your make and model and plug it into the wires that go to the computer. It basically makes the car run a little lean. I don't know if it's still on ebay or not, but it was the big "mod" that ebay had hundreds of listings for. I used it on my car and I thought I felt a definite difference (but it could've just been my imagination), and didn't trip any codes either.

but yeah brian that is your imagination. i've seen that on ebay and tons of idiots like you buy a .50 resistor for 10 bucks plus shipping for absolutely no gain.
Uhm, I actually bought it for $5 shipped and then went to aco, bought a 10 pack that are all the same measurement as what he sent me, and then resold each resistor seperately with a buy it now price of 2 bucks.
