83 z28 4bbl dieing problems
 

when i did my valve cover gaskets on my 1983 camaro Z28 with a stock 4bbl carb i had to unplug all of my emissions stuff and vacum hoses however i made sure i had them in the right place and alot of them are specific lengths and end connectors so i know that i have my electrical right. when i start my car it dies out or it will idle at 2000 rpm if i choke the car i have electric choke so this consists of me holding the barrels shut i don't know if its my carb or maybe a vacum leak from when i deleted my a/c. when it does idle it sits at 2000 rpm and makes a hissing noice from around the carb. the hissing noice almost sounds like a t.v when it has no signal.

sounds like a vaccuum leak to me

yea it was we just fixed it yesterday there was a vacum leak on the front of the intake manifold but im getting a new motor now my friend found me one for 50 dollars all it needs is a refresh. thnx for the tip tho
