9 Bolt

If i were to get a 9-bolt rear end and put in an Eaton Posi unit and a better set of axel shafts, would i be better off than with a 10-bolt doing the same thing? I want the 3.42 rear end with posi and disc brakes which may or may not end up staying stock. Someday they will probably be upgraded. But for now, probably stock. I read on another forum that if you weld the seem where the pumpkin and the axel houseings come together that will help from twisting. What about gussets? worth it or no?

Go with the 9 bolt... more sufficiant and can handle more power to the rear... do you have a auto or a manual... if you have a manual go with a 9 inch if you have an auto go with a 12 bolt... on LS1.com they talk about why
