i have everything hooked up to it that the old intake had except for that hose/tube that went to that thing on the exhaust manifold from out of the bottom of the intake. Someone told me thats for the heater but that made no sense

won't pass, it has to have the original housing parts like teh heat stove (the part you refer to is a block off to lower emissions at start up, and make the engine warm up faster, new cars don't have them hence the cai kits are legal)

They may not be "legal" in WI., but then again a visual underhood inspection isn't required. They never looked under my hood when I was running headers, aftermarket intake etc. - but it passed the sniffer with flying colors. I do recall a stick with a mirror to check for a CAT though...
Since OBDII came out years ago, they don't even put a sniffer in the pipe of those cars...they just plug-in to the ECM! No codes? - Pass....gas cap check and you're done! Bottom line is whether they look underhood or not. The heat stove in the stock air cleaner does nothing once the engine's warmed up, and you never take a cold engine in to get tested anyway. |
so i could pass with the open element?

ude just put the original equipment on it and swap it after.(if possible), my 3rd gen barely passes and ive got a slp cold air induction kit.

We here in FL dont have to deal with all that crap:nana: lol no cat, computer, smog. straight carb and motor!
