Another new clutch

It seems that I need a new clutch again...
The Textralia clutch only held up slightly better than the stock one.
Now I have to find something else. Something stronger. Im thinking maybe the Mcleod street twin. Im not looking at Spec. Anybody have any thoughts?

Also Im at 400 horse at the wheels and was wondering if it might be better to just go with a beefier tranny. I heard the stock tranny wasnt too good after about 400 to 450 horse. Any more thoughts?

Thanks

The street twin should be more clutch than you should ever need, and it still has great street manners from what I've read. I can't say for sure as I haven't shelled out the $1200 to get one.

As far as the transmission goes, I would say drive it until it breaks- upgrading the tranny isn't going to be cheap either-

I know I want to upgrade my 4L60e to the 4L80e one of these years.

a street twin will be more than enough, a ram power grip HD would hold just fine too, i dont know why your tex didnt hold, your not pusing near the power to hurt it. A stock t56 will go along way, the most you will probably do to it is a bent shift fork or the blocker rings wearing out, i know a guy launching his car on slicks at 6K rpm making 600 rwhp on the bottle on his stock t56

That's a joke, for what that clutch costs and for all the hype it should really hold up better than that!
If money's not an issue I would personally go with the Ram Power Grip HD.
Like WS6GoFast said I wouldn't worry to much about the transmission at this point. If you do bend a fork or something then just upgrade to the Viper internals to save some money.

Looks like Im OK.
On the way to the shop today there was a klunk sound and when I restarted the car it ran great.
No body can figure it out. I ran the back roads for a half hour of thrashing the tranny (burnouts and all) with no problems.
I may try and make GLD next week for one more time...:D
