Another stupid question (#2)
Hi folks, what's the difference between vented and non vented optisparks??
Why the vented ones are better??????????:eleph: Thankx! |
umm b/c they are vented and get air flow through them and stay cooler probably
|
Nice try. The vented ones are better because the water pump is located directly about the Opti. When the water pump goes bad the water tends to leak right into the opti shorting it out. The vented versions let the water pass threw the opti preventing (or so they say) the opti from going bad.
|
vented opti is to let moisture out but if the water pump leak isnt fixed immediately its gonna take out the opti regardless. 93-94 non-vented and 95+ is vented i think.

isn't that what i said? lol well its what i meant. and its the thought that counts

Its not so much the water pump, but more condensation build up inside the opti once you start to drive the car- It hooks to the air intake and uses that vacuum to pull air thru the opti-
It will help relieve moisture, but I don't think it will work like a sump pump if your water pump goes.. |
yea what he said...
