BOSCH-PLATINUM+4 SPARK PLUG

Yesterday I gave my car a tune up. I felt it deserved one. Castrol Syntec, BOSCH oil filter, new gas filter, and of couse all 8 Bosch 4 tip plugs and a recharged K&N total price 125. :banghead: money well spent, Now my question is my car had the Bosch plugs before. So im just chaning them out for some new ones. How is the feed back on these plugs. Just curious, paid 6.50 dollars a plug and curiousity gets me.

I have heard rumors that they have in a few instances burned holes in the top of pistons. Never actually had it happen to me but who knows. I ran them in my chevy prerunner wiothout any problems. But I am currently running NGK's.

damn a burned who in my piston is bad. but they couldnt be to bad, i mean the previous owner was running them and they were still strong before i through them out, I wanted NGK's but that was already to much.

I'm goin with ngk when i change mine this spring

bLkWdOw SS 01-10-2006 11:04 AM

i did some research, ill be going with NGK also. I even found a local place that sells them for about 2.00 a plug. :) Ill have to change them spring as well.

You would have been better off going with NGK's to tell you the truth.

Mike Jones 01-10-2006 11:14 PM

I went with NGK's when I put new one's in when I installed my headers.

I have the Bosch Platinum +4's in my wife's Saturn. Got them real cheap so I thought why not. No problems whatsoever yet.

archemedes 01-11-2006 09:14 AM

the bosch problems from what I have gathered are rumor, every instance of damage I find is "this guy I know had a friend who...."

bLkWdOw SS 01-12-2006 11:58 AM

Ill be getting the NGK's just have to put a little ware on these 4+ that i just got. :banghead:

Bernotas05 01-13-2006 12:00 AM

I could get the platinum +4 for barley nothin with my disount and whatnot for workin at advance auto, so do you think they would be better than goin with the ngk iridium IX's or V power plugs?

archemedes 01-13-2006 08:55 AM

no, from reports I've read the multi electrode plugs don't help they can actually hurt power (there is a reason racers index plugs to get the electrode out of teh way)go with regular platinum unless running nitrous or boost

2Poor4Z 01-17-2006 12:46 AM

been running the bosch platinum +4 plugs in my v6 for about 2 years now.. def time for a tune up.. and as far as i can tell there still pulling strong

97z2801ss 01-17-2006 12:56 PM

yea im runnin NGK TR 55's with Taylor wires

Carlos01SS 01-18-2006 08:14 PM

The readup on the NGK TR55's has been great, that was why I went with them as well.
