Cam install

With my wife's car dying I'm thinking about going back to my cam install idea.
So help me put a list together of all the parts I'll need.

Cam
pushrods
timing chain
LS6 pump
springs
tune
gaskets

What else?

If you are going that far, I would just get some new lifters and rockers as well. that way you can be sure that no worn parts are trying to mate with new parts.

i dont get why you want to do this b/c your wifes car is dying??

yeah i plan on doing the whole shi-bang. cam, lifters, pushrods, rockers, studs, springs, retainers, locks, valve guide seals and stem seals, timing set, and then of course gasket sets. summit has cam change sets which include top and front of motor gaskets.

oh and you'll also need a tune :D

I was going to supercharge the car but now I have to spend the money buying her a new car so I have less to spend on my car. So a cam install is the next best thing.

It'll take a very long time, I've been saving for quite awhile. It's all good because I know I'll love the cam.

archemedes 10-21-2006 12:17 AM

I figure may as well do the cam since by the time you save enough up for teh s/c you'll find something else you want too
