Car Died 5 Times Coming Home

I was on my way home, and my car stalled at a light when coming to a stop, each time I started it back up and started moving again. But then it stalled agai at each stop light (5) on the way home. I just installed a new thermostat (180*) to replace my 160* thermostat that was runnig my car too rich. I don't see what could've gone wrong since then.

Oh btw, this happened before a few times, a shop said hey set the IAC speed back to normal and cleaned it out, it happened once right after I got the car back, and then it was fine until now. That was about 5-6 months ago.

its probably a bad IACV. if they reset it it should be fine. either that or they did it backwards so when its supposed to be open it closes :lolsign:

Wouln't surprise me, some of the shops around here will change the oil in a car and forget to put the drain plug back in when they add the fresh oil. (talk about a mess)

They noticed the wires hat go into the throttle body were bare. They'll fix that and then diagnose it.

I've now replaced the IAC valve ($96 part), and the stalling has stopped, but the car has a significant drop in power and sometimes takes 5-6 times to start, it cranks and you think it is going to start, but it dies as soon as it reaches 1k RPM.

sounds like the pcm is goofy. the bare wires may have shorted it

out of gas?

starts fine now, performance is back to normal, don't know what was up.
