ceramic coated?

alright black steel are 200 and ceramic coating is another 100 bucks or so. is it worth it to get them in ceramic coating? or is the only reason to reduce under-hood temps?

archemedes 05-15-2005 03:37 PM

how often do you wan to replace headers? the coating keeps tehm from rusting and looking like crap

RFF 05-15-2005 05:33 PM

Get the coating if possible.

NoRiceInside 05-15-2005 06:25 PM

That's what I say, but if you are going to do it, do it right with ceramic.

imported_2fast4u 05-15-2005 09:23 PM

black will be bubbling and stuff get ceramic dont mess it up for the next guy plus that something u could include instead of " i have painted headers" it has "ceramic coated headers"

Mike Jones 05-15-2005 09:34 PM

Just out of curosity, how well does it work to use a header paint like POR-20(http://www.imperialrestoration.com/p...e_coatings.asp), then using exhaust wrap over that?

archemedes 05-15-2005 09:42 PM

DON'T use wrap it will ruin the headers no matter what coating is on them the por 20 is supposed to work, but I haven't seen real long term results yet

Why does wrap ruin the headers, does it hold the moister(sp) in or something?
