Chevy 3.8L V-6 engine casting numbers?
 

Hi, does anyone have the casting number for a 98 Camaro 3.8L 3800 Series ll
V-6 engine with a rear wheel drive 4L60E transmission? Do you know where it is located on the engine. I found these numbers on a spare engine that I purchased: I056 and below it was 6M-2. Not sure if it is suppose to be read as I0566M-2. These numbers were on the rear of the engine behind the drivers side head on the bellhousing flange. well traditionally you'd find the casting number on the same location, except passenger side.

So, are you saying that for the 98 Camaro with the 3.8L V-6, the numbers are on the bellhousing flange area on the passenger side of the engine? Thank you, Tommy.
