clutch problems

i am having problems with my car, i put a reman. flywheel in, and a new clutch. i got everything back together and stated the car and it would not go into gear. so i thought it was the clutch master cylinder, so i replaced that. Nothing changed. so i am thing that it is the flywheel that is causing the problem, b/c 4th gen camaros do not have an adjustable clutch system. so does anyone know anywhere i could get one, or what my problem may be?

did you use the alignment tool?, did you bleed the slave cylinder? Who did the flywheel (have seen some remans in worse shape than ones being replaced) new ones are not cheap but the dealer and napa should have them

i got it from autozone, and yes we bleed the system and used the alignment tool. that is why a am soooooo confused

By not go in gear do you mean that the shifter doesn't go into gear or the transmission itself is screwed up. Need a little more input on what exactly is happening....

camaroguy04 05-22-2005 10:29 PM

ok it will go into gear when the car is off but not when it is started.

see if it moves when the pedal is pressed

camaroguy04 05-23-2005 09:37 PM

it moves but not much

pull it apart and measure teh flywheel, I bet the runout on it is excessive, you may be able to have it machined depending on how many times it's been done already

camaroguy04 05-24-2005 07:58 PM

the runout is excessive???? what does that mean..... i bought the flywheel from advanced auto parts (it is a remanufactured flywheel) what happens is the the stays engaged it will not disengage to let me shift.

runout means the thing was not machined flat, very common with reman junk, or you didn't bench bleed teh slave cylinder and it has air still in it (the clutch moving kinda kills that though) they don't move much
