code 45

what's it mean??

Well, for one thing, it means yes, i'm finally driving my car again.

But yes, it also means i got a trouble light and ran the code and that's my lucky number. Apparently it's linked to the o2 sensor??

MeenZ28 09-26-2006 01:50 AM

It means you dont post on ProjectCamaro enough. I can tell you how to fix that....

imported_blade 09-26-2006 02:33 AM

i am sorry i don't post more!

I do visit almost daily though.

I'm like a silent visitor...
I'll try to put my $.02 in more often.

MeenZ28 09-26-2006 02:38 AM

LOL no worries. I just like to hear from the OGs more often is all.

MetalliCamaro 09-26-2006 05:36 PM

45 is Rich.. So your getting took much gas not enough air.. Air filter clean? and yes, it could be the O2 sensor.... Disconect the battery for 10 seconds, and take the car for an easy ride about 5 minutes.. recheck codes.. if 45 comes back then its serious.. I had 45 once, did what i just told you to do, and never had it since.. But check your air filter..

imported_blade 09-27-2006 05:38 PM

i JUST did my air filter.

Soo, i'm not quite sure what it is.
seriously, juuust did it.
I'll loook at it...and reset the codes and stuff.
We'll see what happens. i've driven it since and haven't
had any codes.

could be a bad injector (stuck open) do you smell gas at all?

MetalliCamaro 09-28-2006 07:26 PM

You Just did the air filter.. Hmm.. did you hook the vac line back up on the snorkel?

imported_blade 09-29-2006 03:05 PM

snorkel?

I do smell somethign, arch, but i'm suspicious of an exhaust leak.

archemedes 09-30-2006 12:54 AM

an exhaust leak wouldn't cause a rich reading, it would usually cause a lean condition

imported_blade 09-30-2006 03:29 PM

well i think the exhaust leak is past the o2 sensor...so would that mess with any readings if that's the case?

Stuck injector...i did just put those new/used ones in from that lt1...a few months back.

archemedes 09-30-2006 08:38 PM

past the sensor won't matter. Are the lt1 injectors maybe larger than the older ones?

imported_blade 10-01-2006 03:08 AM

indeed.
They are.

Well...supposedly.
Not much more powerful, but more powerful indeed.

Thing is, i've been running them for awhile without any codes. And i've asked around and have been told that i shouldn't need to change anything (like a chip) to compensate for the new injectors.
