Disk Rear?

Do any of the third gens have disk rears that would hold up to some hp? Ex. an IROC-Z or an RS. If they do, what year and the such. I want to get one so that when mine breaks this summer, I'll have a replacement waiting. If I can, I would like to have disks all the way around without having to buy an aftermarket kit.

there is no third gen rear that can hold power. They did have rear disc as an option, and it was standard with the iroc package (I think)

Theyre all 7.5 or 7.625" 10 bolts...there are a few that are 9 bolts i donno the ring gear size on those however from what ive heard they hold up to more...becareful tho good luck finding aftermarket gears for one.

the 9 bolt (7.75 ring gear) can be disc and there are rumors that it is stronger then a dana 44 but i dont believe it... but there stronger then the 10 bolts...

weak point in any gm rear is the junk c clips that will allow your wheel and axle to pass you (have seen it, and replaced a few quarter panels from it), they shouldn't be allowed in any car

well the 9 bolt doesnt have c-clips

all gm rears have c clips (gm doesn't even acknowledge a 9 bolt since they went to inch measurement in the middle of the 70's)

yeah the 9 bolt was made in australia and then shipped over here... i dont think it is techenly a gm rear end even tho it was in gm cars

if it's the holden rear it's a piece of garbage, the housing supposedly flexes like a toothpick
