door locks
ok, well i found somthing out today when my freind broke into my car, suposidly gm car dor locks are defective, especialy on camaros for some reason, all you have to do is take any key( or a flathead screwdriver) and stick it in the lock about a 1/4 inch and turn it to unlock.. and it works. kinda pissed me off cuz now all my freinds can get into my car.. but the word might , any tips on what to do? btw this is only 3rd gens and it also works on some cavaliers and berreta's

yes i am gonna brake into some 3rd gens

I haven't heard that, what is probably happening is the whole thing is lose and turning the key or screwdriver turns the cylinder instead of the internal parts check that first, if that's fine replace the cylinder with one off a newer car (my bravada uses the same ones as the camaro and it's a '94)

its the internal parts, the cylinder doesnt turn when i do it
|
then it's been forced they are the same part number as the s10

yea im not really freinds with the kid, thats why i want to get it fixed i have an alpine car alarm... not sure which one it came with the car when i bought it but i was thinking of getting an immobilizer, anyone know some good ones and how much they are?
|
most good alarms have basically imobilizers in them, on that car though the best thing is redundancy don't waste money on the club (thieves love it gives leverage to break the column lock)look at some of the excaliber stuff, and crime stopper for the cheap end both are very good with low failure rates, plan on spending a couple hundred bucks for decent stuff
