EGR VALVE Problem

Ok Computer said is not working, what problems can it give me?

archemedes 09-29-2005 01:10 AM

bad idle, stalling, bad millage

DDxHellRaiser 09-29-2005 08:07 PM

Lol..Everyone knows I can relate to this one, check out my thread "Ignition Coil Prob"
Anyways, You could take the EGR valve off and clean it with Carb cleaner, that is only if you have an older model Camaro. For the Knewer ones which are electronic, Best bet is to get a new one. If the EGR valve is bad the sypmtoms are like was said above..Bad idleing, stalling, studdering and may even shut off at redlights..laff

The Idling is perfect and it doesn’t shake or nothing like that. When it is stop is really nice and running too.
The only problem is that The Service engine Light only comes out when I’m getting out of the highway (in other words it’s when I let go the gas when I’m exiting the highway)

archemedes 09-30-2005 11:11 AM

the valve may be a bit slow from build up, it will probably start acting bad

DDxHellRaiser 09-30-2005 04:11 PM

Welp, when the service engine light comes on that means the car is no good anymore, Best bet is to sell it no more than $200. Sorry tough luck :lolsign:

this thread is stupid. im ready to delete it.

hey dude, you have to take a ****...what should you do? take a ****. your EGR valve is bad...what should you do? replace it.

CHINGON 10-02-2005 02:53 AM

kk delete it...
but that guys make me mad...
but anyways peace man...

DDxHellRaiser 10-03-2005 11:37 PM

*Laughs* Can't believe "CHINGON" took that seriously, whatever. DUde if your service engine light is on and your diagnostic says bad EGR then its possible the selinoids (whatever) is wearing out. Either go buy a EGR valve (cost me $170) and fix it, Or leave it alone and enjoy the new "Service Light" until the car starts acting up.
Replace the EGR Valve, Durr. Its possible to clean it if you had an OLD model camaro. SInce you dont you need to obviously get a new one.

PS: Bra's on a vehicle is so 80's. :weirdthre

if you ever get teh car painted you'll hate it (especially if you leave it long enough, they will help the hood rot) they beat teh hell out of the paint

paarman97maro 10-04-2005 10:30 AM

yeah, plus your paint will be darker where the bra is if you keep it on long enough... but i suppose if you like it, thats what matters

DDxHellRaiser 10-04-2005 01:52 PM

Install Your newly bought EGR Valve (Simple to do)
Tell us if it fixed the "Service Engine Light"
If you like wearing the Bra then im sure your comfortable with it. **Snickers** :lolsign:
