Engine pics after LT's and OTVC.

I started my header install about a month ago...had to end up doing several other things as a result. Finally got everything done now though. I have Jet-Hot LT's, and off road Y, and Taylor OTVC wires. Those are the new additions for now. Here's some pics.

Yes, they're used headers so they don't look as shiny as they once did. I don't care though, they still perform just the same. One thing I read about was people having issued with oil seeping up from under the looms. I put some high temp RTV on the undersides of them to prevent that from happening to me. Seems to do the trick, although I have to reseal one. The others are oil free even after a few runs. That one's seeping a little bit though.

The orange wire looms around the engine bay will be going away soon. They were OK until all the red from the wires came in and added to the STB. I'm also going to paint the fins on the intake red. They're currently orange also. The orange just looks out of place now.

Looks bad ***! Love the tower strut bar, that was the same exact one that would have been sold to me for 80$ but it fell through because it was to long for my engine bay...

looks awesome!

Looks good, I love how headers can help clean up the engine bay.

Lookin good man.

It is definetly a good start. Get rid of all the orange like you said and it will look even better. I've been reading alot lately about OVC wires. I might just have to think about picking some up for myself. Hmm....

Looks awesome man, good job!

Looks awsome bro! Gota love the OTVC kit. One of the cooler things to do to an LT-1 engine bay. I'm glad I did.

the OVC wires are the ****. unfortunately, cutting and crimping them sucks MAJOR ***. looks nice tho.

shock6906 05-22-2007 04:41 PM

Thanks for the compliments everybody. I didn't find cutting and crimping them to be all that difficult actually. It was a lot easier to do that than it was to change the oil pan gasket.

did you have to slide them through the boots? FTS

The install wasn't too bad. Would have taken about two hours or so if I hadn't stuck another project in the middle of it. I actually enjoyed it for the most part.

Yeah, had to slide the opti boots on. The first one was a *****, but I got a system down after that. Squeeze that silicone on a small blade screwdriver and get a generous coating on the inside of the boot. Slide the wire in and then when it starts to slow down, put more silicone on the screwdriver and slide it in between the boot and the wire and work it around. Should go right through. After I started doing it that way, I had each boot on within 30 seconds to a minute.
