exhaust suggestion
 

im looking for an exhaust kit for my 98 v6. I want the full kit with dual outlets that will fit well with the xenon body kit for around 350$ any suggestions would be appreciated. Also are there kits that do not need to weld on? but attached a diff way
also 50 state smog legal

I've been hearing the TSP Rumbler is a great kit for the 3.8s. Now sure about the fit with the Xenon kit though.

Rumbler, Magnaflow or Borla are good. If on a budget get the rumbler, I believe it's the cheapest. Weld the exhaust on don't just leave it.

if you install the exhaust yourself most shops will weld it for you for a pretty good price

you can clamp it... not a suggested way, but it works. Welding is obviously better.

Cheapest you can get is flowmaster.. (wouldnt recommend) On the higher end, you can get Borla (sounds nice as hell). Then theres a bunch of inbetweens. Magnaflow is around 350, its like 400 I think.

If you want it to fit well with your gfx, then you will have to find tips. I think all exhausts will come with round tips... so start looking for tips that blend in if thats what you want.

what adapters do i need

Most likely just an adapter to go from your stock pipe size to the 3" Since I think the v6 has 2 1/2 inch plumping from what I remember on my old six banger.

It looks like the TSP rumbler is more or less just straight pipes. Is that correct? If that's the case, you could have any exhaust shop do that for you and probably for less than the TSP would cost after shipping etc.

I do belive the TSP has dynomax bullet style muffler(s).

You're right. I neglected to read the page. I was trying to click the pic but it won't load for me for some reason. Anyway, I noticed the 225 does not include tips. If you want those, it's at least another 75 bucks. I say you can just buy a single bullet and put it before the axle then have a shop fab the rest of it. You should still come out ahead.

I just did it online, and with the cheapest tips and ground shipping to my address in South Carolina, the total would have been ~335 dollars. I bet you can get the same system made for less at your local shop.

It's 2 1/4 inch stock on the V6. Unless they went up in size for the 98+.
