because that's epa standard done on a dyno, and rarely reflects what someone will actually get, many owners get better than that the v6 is really under powered for the weight of the car so it has to use more gas (there are some trucks that the v8 gets better mileage than the 6)

i got 26mpg on my trip back from milwaukee when i first picked up the car.
i get around 24mpg on average.

I was getting 24 mpg average on a 290 miles trip going 65 on the way there and 70 on the way back, only used 3/4's of a tank...about 12 gallons of gas...not bad at all.

A couple days ago when I went home and back I got close to 400 miles on a tank, which is roughly 26 mpg. Best Ive gotten since I got my car almost 3 years ago.
