My girlfriend has a 02 Z-28 with 20" wheels and I have a 1.5" drop on that. It took the fender well gap away and they still don't scrub. So I doubt that 1.5" would be too much. Z-28 springs will work on a V6 but I think the front will sit up higher because they are made to support more weight of the V8 engine. But the Z-28 springs are the same, but the weight capacities are different, if you put V6 springs on a V8, it will be slammed cause they are not made to support the engine. Some good springs are Eibach, HKS, etc. Make sure to go ahead and change the struts and shocks when you lower it. Or it will ride like **** and bust the factory one eventually. Another good option would be get Ground Control coilovers w/ KYB AGX struts. I had those on my car for a while, they rode really good, and I has very hapy with them all around. Hope this helps.
