Hazing on chrome

Is it possible to get rid of hazing on chrome?

archemedes 03-31-2005 12:09 PM

what kind of chrome if it's plastic it may be delaminating, if it's metal you can polish it (I use nevrdull or brasso)

camaro_chic17 03-31-2005 12:55 PM

It's metal on a wheel... what are nevrdull and brasso?

archemedes 03-31-2005 01:07 PM

polishes

RFF 03-31-2005 01:14 PM

I agree with arch on the Brasso, stuff works wonders.

camaro_chic17 03-31-2005 01:43 PM

Where can u buy Brasso at? I've been using Eagle One Nevrdull Wadding Polish and Mother's chrome polish and they're not getting rid of all the scratches. It still looks shiny from a ways away...

archemedes 03-31-2005 01:55 PM

brasso is available at wal mart with cleaning supplies can you feel the scratches? if you can they won't come out, you may also need to use a machine

camaro_chic17 03-31-2005 03:08 PM

I can't feel them. I actually just really messed up by using steel wool grade 000 i believe with mother's chrome polish in one spot.. close up it looks kinda hazed and full of light scratches. I put it outside in direct sunlight and from a foot and half away it looks like normal chrome it's shiny and doesn't look scratched up. Is there a machine that could work to take them out?

archemedes 03-31-2005 03:20 PM

it would need to spin fast so a dremel would work would just be real time consuming

camaro_chic17 03-31-2005 07:37 PM

It's not completely going away with Eagle One Neverdull :( What sort of place would use a dremel or something on it? I don't think that I can get rid of all of it with hand polishing and I've never used a dremel.. it does look better than before at least

archemedes 03-31-2005 08:37 PM

not sure who would polish them a detailer may do it

Bernotas05 03-31-2005 11:38 PM

I use neverdull, it works wonders, my dad allways uses it on his harley, the its like all crome and it cleans everything right up like new

Maybe this could help.

I don't think those will spin fast enough to do a good job

I wonder how many RPMs it can take before it flys apart? I have been thinking about using that to polish my intake.
