so i talked to this guy about porting and polishing my LT1 heads and he said its not a good idea because if you port it any more then the gasket gets pushed out when installed. also if this is the case i was thinkin some good dart heads any ideas would help alot thank you

By the sound of it, you need to find someone that knows what they are talking about. Any decent head porter can do the work you want done and will recommend any parts it will take to make it work.

If you can afford it, by all means pick up a set heads such as AFR's or Dart. They flow really well out of the box. Another option is to look up a guy by the name of Lloyd Elliott. He is well known for his awesome head work. Here are a couple sites where you can send in your stock heads and get awesome numbers out of them :

i think im gunna go with the dart heads and edlebroke intake manifold but i was like their is no way u cant port the lt1 heads any more does anyone have dart heads and could give me some feed back about how they like them.
