Help, engine died and will no longer start.
 

I was going down the the road and my car backfired really loud, then now my car will no longer start. The car tries to start normally but the engine will not turn over. Could anyone help me out here, I inspected under the hood and could not find out what is wrong with it. I fulled it up early that day so maybe their is a chance it could be bad gas?

a fuel injected car backfire? never heard of that...if it did you can kiss your new intake elbow goodbye. it probably wasnt a backfire.

Almost sounds like opti to me....they have a tendency to just go like that-

yeah so maybe the pop was a misfire since it was ignition.

Turned out it was the coil wire. The coil is corroded so bad the wire is slipping off. When I checked the wire it looked fine so I didn't mess with it but unless the wire is firmly placed on the coil it won't work. I have a new coil on the way and I need to figure out how long of a wire I need for the coil. I think the stock coil wire will be fine for a while, it is just the coil is falling apart.

So the engine DID in fact turn over it just wasnt fireing on any of the 8...um i mean...6 cylinders :lolsign:
