I feel like im the only one...

Well, it all started when i got my F-body. I wanted to push it to the limits. I didnt want to be seen driving a Camaro slow. I dont really think they are even meant to be driven slow. Anyways, it is an auto 3.4L( yea dont give me any crap, im young) and whenever i push it ( also known as flooring it, cornering hard, or the occasional burnout) i feel like absolute sh** after for doing it. This is a car that is supposed to last me a while, i know, but i also wanna have fun, so im not sure....cuz when ever i do, it sticks with me and i think im abusing my car really bad. its got almost 85 K on the odometer. Anyone else have this problem? Its realy started to bug me...

it's quite the rift of emotions.

I understand. i always felt guilty for abusing my car.

Either you get over it, you don't and continue, or you don't and stop abusing it.

In my oppinion on the open streets, just try to use common sense. Dont act a fool and get someone hurt. But, as per hurting your car, riding it hard is one thing, but if its built to take it, its not going to change much on the condition of the vehicle. If you abuse it, eventually something will break, but thats the cost of driving a car like ours

I occasionally will push it a little harder, but I dont ALL the time. When you drive it hard all the time, then yeah, youre going to run into more fixing, faster. I just take it easy every now and then, and just to make sure I still have my tets I give her hell ocassionally.

Just be moderate. If you abuse the hell out of your car, then you get what you deserve. Simple as that.

On the rare occasion I drive my car, I usually take it really easy until everything is warmed up nice. Then I beat the hell out of it. Not like extremely bad but I floor it and corner really fast and maybe abuse the brakes a little bit. I learned my lesson about being too stupid like doing neutral dropouts....yeah thats the dumbest thing you can do. Broke my driveshaft and rear end. Not all my fault though, my car cover cable was through one of my wheels and wrapped around the axle and locked that wheel. I have been a little easier on it the last few times i drove it. One b/c it was raining. Two b/c my cat-back was hanging down and would hit the ground every once in a while. I am yet to break anything else.
Once I start driving my car on a day to day basis I will care more, but if something breaks now I figure I have until summer to fix it anyways.

Lol. That little story reminded me of something that happened to me a couple years ago.

Customer came in in a 68 z28 (I think it was a 68? been a while) complaining of a vibration (whenever you hear that you think out of round tire or tire balance typically) So I go to test drive the car right? Im driving it down the street and woah wtf, whenever you hit the gas it gets horrible... I wasnt quite sure what was wrong... but I soon found out. On my way up to the stop light, one of the motor mounts broke, the engine torqued, and pulled the throttle cable wide *** open, so here I am about 5 lengths from the back of a truck and the car goes sideways burning the hell out of the tires, and im freaking the **** out, I have my foot all the way on the brakes, and I turn off the key and got it stopped sideways in the road before anything happened. I seriously about pissed and shiate myself.

one thing I believe is if you get on your car once in a while you know it a bit better, and will catch small issues before they become big issues (like I caught a miss on the gp early and fixed it before it could do any damage)
