I wana go drag racing 'Help"
Hello all, I have a stock 96 z28 and want to start bracket racing this car. I dont need to drive it on the street. I have some drag racing experience (in dragsters) but need some help in the door car department. I want to start doing mods slowly as the budget allows and want to spend my money wisely where i'll get the best ET for the buck. Obviously getting what power I do have now to the ground is key. I would like to here from some other camaro drag racers to find out what they would do in my case. What mods do I start with. I'm not looking at setting any records I just want to be concistant and competive. Thanks!

start by getting a rule book, and deciding what class you'd like to run in. Lowering weight is always easy, and cheap.Suspension upgrades are always a great improvement.Alot of guys also change gears, which may help with times

so far my best buy has been drag radials i picked up a used set of nitto dr's from a friend for 25 bucks.. go them mounted on a spair set of salad shooters and lowered my 1/8 et by .3 .. so dropping 3 tenths with less than 50 bucks aint bad. although if u have the money i would recommend getting new radials because i ran on my friends MT and it was a completely different feeling.

Thanks for the reply's. I do have a rule book and plan on running bracket et's street class in the Summit et race's at Sacramento and Seras Point. I would just like to get the thing in the high 13's to low 14's with out dumping a ton of cash. I will look into the M/T's and plan on a major diet -seats, a/c, smog, exhaust, air bags etc. I will take it out next week in stock trim to get some base numbers. Do you guys have any experience at how I should launch the car stall rpm and air preasures and any other tricks that might help would be appriciated. Thanks!!
