LCA relocation bracket
What setting should I put the control arm at in the relocation bracket. My options are standard, medium, and High traction (stock, one knotch lower, or two knotches lower). What are the benefits and disadvantages to each setting.
ps- the front of my '01 Z28 is lowered in the front only |
uhhhhh uhhhhhh do you have adj control arms? if you dont your gonna have to use the stock setting i think. why is only the front of your car lowered?

I guess it would depend on what you want the car to do and what you are doing with it.
If you want handling- go with standard- go to the track a lot, go with two notches.. |

what kind of brackets are you gonna be useing?

FYI: UMI performance has relocation brackets that have the holes curved to work with stock or non adjustable LCAs.

You really can't use the bottom notch if the car is at stock height in the rear. At most you could go 1 notch down to the middle. Remember, when you use the middle or bottom postion your really changing the rotation of the pinion angle. The lowest position is for extremely lowered F-body's. Bottom position corrects the bad pinion angle & geometry, if you happen to have adjustable LCA's you can further rotate the angle of the axle housing by adjusting the LCA in or out. Re-location brackets will definitely help to reduce wheel hop on a stock F-body.
You will notice in the pic below the adjustment section in the middle of the LCA (this will rotate the axle forward or backward). The LCA re-location bracket is in the bottom position on my car because it is lowered about 3". PIC: Attachment 157675 |
