Lingenfelter, SLP... Which CAI should I get? (Its Me agian)

Hey, its me agian, I know I joined then like left for a few months, hehe, my bad. you know when your life just gets busy? Anyway... I'm back, and I still don't know which CAI I need!!

Lingenfelter = $180
SLP = $230

Are they going to have the same gains? I'm really low on cash, so I'm trying to save money, BUT, if the SLP seriously gets better gains, I will go with that. Oh, and if you guys know of any other good ones (with links) I'll check them out too.

go with the lingenfelter it will get cooler air and is cheaper (from what I see it is a fenderwell) or make your own for about $100 less

Arch, where did you get your pvc piping for your CAI? I went to a local menards to find some, and I could not find any straight piping, they may have been out. Also, what size is it? i'm pretty sure its 3", but when I get to right before the TB, is it 3" to connect to that?

3" home depot and lowes stock it in the plumbing section, I think 4" also works

SOMBirdV6 07-26-2005 01:01 PM

get the lingenfelter.

Lingenfelter, all air intake systems MAY vary by 2-3rwhp TOPS, so why not save the money, for the same horsepower ;)

Ive always had a thing for the SLP cai.

assuming the car is a 3.8, youre going to have to contact them and make sure it comes with the elbow. some intakes dont. if lingenfelter comes with an elbow id say just get that, unless youre worried about appearance. i think the slp intake looks a lot nicer.

moroso and k&n also make one, and you can find them on thunderracing.com

You could have made a new thread on this, instead of digging an old one up. Do that, youll get more replies.

www.texas-speed.com

My friends car had flowmasters, it sounded alright at low RPMs but crap at anything else. The rumbler is good all the way around. I just got mine installed. :) I'm very happy with it.
