A little help!!

Hi, today i tried to start my car and couldnīt make it work till the third try, look like there was not enough gas. Finally it worked, but the engine was making some strange noises, worked at just 500 rpm. I step on the gas and seems to run fine but if i take it off it goes back to 500rpm's What could it be? injectors, pump? Didnīt drove the car, as i prefer to keep it safe.

Hint.- Yesterday smelled like gasoline near the tank when i got home.

Thanks.

First check the fire, make sure you're plugs are arching. After you're sure you're getting fire, check the fuel. Fuel getting to the rail?

If all that checks out, i'd check the MAF sensor and IACV. And if all else fails, TPS.
