low end miss
after my car warms up it seems to miss a whole lot on the low end. im guessing its the opti spark which will be replaced this week along with new plugs, wires, and im getting the entire fuel system cleaned. any other suggestions?
its a 94 so the opti spark isnt vented and the one im getting is vented, that should be ok i think. |
see if the plugs n wires do the trick if not Id check to see if a fuel injector is having trouble opening

always start with the wear items like plugs and wires, if it still acts up do a seafoam treatment, could be a clogged injector (which the cleaning should help)

my mechanic told me that the water pump is leaking onto the opti spark which is causeing the miss. which would make since because it runs fine when u first start it. i plan on getting the new wires, plugs, water pump, and opti spark put on thurdays. after that im going to get the entire fuel system cleaned and get a tune up.
when the car is nice and cool and you first start it the car is smooth and sound. |
plugs wires oil change, fluids..... thats a nice tuneup if u ask me... maybe cap n rotor... cleaning the TB..

if the water pump leaks it can do all kinds of damage

that may be why gm did a total redesign after such a short run

yea cuz the water pump leaks right on the opti shortining it.. u can replace all the optis u want but if u dont change the water pump ull go threw optis like toilet paper, I do believe they woulda used the lt1 for something else hadnt they had this problem.
