lugnuts

I asked this question in another thread, but I never got an answer..

Caleb mentioned that the lugnut size for our cars is 12 x 1.5... I want to get some black lugnuts and I found some on ebay, which are the same size, but they say civic, honda, whatever... Just making sure theres no difference as long as its the same size... And yes I know that I need 5 for each wheel instead of 4 for all you jackasses out there haha..

Also, any of you know some good sites to get wheels locks from? im going to need a set of 4, and I need them black.. so far not really any luck on ebay.

just paint them black lol, I'd want to paint mine red if i ever got black rims.

Im getting new ones, and theyll cost the same amount anyway... Just need confirmation that theyll work. Im prettysure, but I dont wanna come back knowing its a japanese format or theyre only made for imports..

mxracerbrian 01-29-2007 08:30 PM

they will work

98CamaroZ28 01-29-2007 08:31 PM

yea i hear ya, metric instead of inches right? Green ones would be sweet!

paarman97maro 01-29-2007 08:32 PM

no

blue89vert 01-29-2007 08:44 PM

lol yeah dude they should work fine

2Poor4Z 01-30-2007 04:23 AM

theyll work fine paar.. as far as wheel locks.. u cant even see my wheel locks i have now because they are so small compared to lugs.. they are set so deep in my lugnut slots and so far back in my rims.. so the black might not matter on those iono..

paarman97maro 01-30-2007 05:27 PM

OH really? I thought they were an entire lugnut... Thats cool then, its just a piece of metal that sits behind them huh? Very sweet. Thanks for the answers guys.

They ARE an entire lugnut, there are several types, instead of the socket pattern on the outside some have different sides or some with dimples or little things that stick out to prevent a standard socket from fitting, the key goes over the lock and the socket goes over the key, atleast thats how mine are. My buddies sonoma's locks are different, his are completely round then have a design on the front that the key fits into, the socket onto the key. Ill see if I can find pictures.

EDIT:
Pictures
round kind

Cant find the kind I have, mine came with the car so mabe there GM ones, idk, but im going out to my car in a few days ill get some pictures if you'd like. Also, most wheel locks CANNOT be torqued to the full 100lbs or whatever it is, atleast all 3 sets my buddy has went through said on the packaging. He didnt read the first set and broke one, and lost the key to the second set, hes not exactly the brightest bulb in the box, lol.

So any idea on where to get black ones then?

sman 01-31-2007 07:46 AM

Idk, mine are black, but like an unfinished metal black. I see if I can figure out what kind mine are.

2Poor4Z 01-31-2007 05:05 PM

mine are a complete lug nut.. but mine are more like a regular nut.. they are open on both ends and screw all the way down the bolt.. they dont cover the end of it..

96camaro 01-31-2007 06:42 PM

Got mine at a tire shop, but they aren't black.

Lug Nuts

I just had to replace the lug nuts on my 87 Iroc
with the 16' rims. All the caps had torn and some
had fallen off.

I got them from Stockton wheel in CA for $61.00
to my door. That also included a set of locks for
the set.

They are also powder coated black.
Ask for frank if interested.
