MAF sensor problem worse than I thought (I think)

1st thing ... If I sound completely retarted, please don't mention it and just help me :lolsign:

So my previous thread stated that I got my code checked and it was P102 MAF sensor difficulty, well ... I was taking off the sensor to clean it and fluid started dripping out from behind the sensor ... then a steady stream... Pretty sure its anti-freeze, and im pretty sure its not supposed to be there. Honestly, I don't know too much about new fuel injected engines so ... anything will help here. I know this is bad ... but I dont know how bad ... Well, any sort of help would be greatly appreciated. :)

I really gotta fix it and sell it, cuz im gettin the Z28 tommarow! Thanks agian.

dude that sucks, no help from me sorry...

I doubt its anti freeze. There shouldnt be any fluid in or around the throttle body! I have no idea what the hell that could be, if its antfreeze it could be a problem worth a look by a mechanic.

Did you ever get it figured out?

Amurican_Muscle 06-13-2006 04:57 AM

Well ... Took it to the shop today and my buddy (the mechanic) said it seems normal. He told me to go to a junk yard get a new one and see if it fixes it. If not, he will look a little more for the problem ... It still sucks. At least I have my new Z to drive while I wait. :)

time to sell the 3.8

did you take the tb off or just remove the maf sensor? There shouldn't be fluid in the MAF sensor, maybe some oil from a K&N filter, but nothing that runs out of it. If you removed the tb, then that has a passage for coolant to run through it
