I would stay away from it, I heard the Rain-X version is better.

just don't be lazy. wash and dry your car yourself. it's much easier and cheaper

edit:
okay maybe not easier...but cheaper. and i would guess it works better as well

I'm going to go out and buy a pressure washer so I can do a good job at home.

that's a way to go!

my dad has it, but has yet to use it. He also has a pressure washer.

RFF 03-16-2005 11:57 PM

Wouldn't a pressure washer be to much pressure?

depends.. but I wouldn't use on on Mayhem. I'll do it all by hand.

I have a pressure washer and still have to hand wash (that's why the srpay wash place has the brush)

I have one of the autodry units and used for a while when I had my t/a. I stopped because I came to the conclusion that the soap they use was stripping the wax from my car.
I waxed my car with zymol (2 coats), and within 6 washes with the autodry, my paint looked like it had not been waxed in a year. (Those six washes were within about 3 weeks!) I say stay away from it, but I have not heard of or even seen the rain x version.

The solution is simple, stop using these half baked auto dry systems and do it the right way. :)

I bought my dad an autodry system and I didnt buy it so he/I could be lazy. The autodry system filters the impurities out of the water so waterspotting isnt so bad. I personally am stuck with well water which is TERRIBLE when it comes to waterspotting. Our water dries in 5 minutes or less, and the residue it leaves is nasty. On the other hand, when i wash my car at my friends house with city water, the car will remain wet for practically 20 minutes or more, and doesnt really spot if it air-drys. the auto-dry system helps my well water dry more like city water, and that makes it a lot easier for me to hand dry. The system definitely works, and I would recommend it, however I am not impressed with how often filters need to be replaced.

werd on the filter replacement too
