Need price quote/help

I am looking at a 1967 Mint Condition (Fully Restored) Camaro RS. I am yet to go look at the car, but I am needing so help as to make sure eactly what things I need to check. The car has a 327 V8 and a 4 Speed Transmission. The car (according to the owner) was fully restored in 1999 and is in mint condition. He is asking $16,000 for the camaro.

I need help with

1. Is this price somewhere in the right range? never purchased a classic car before

2. What are some things I need to look for specifically in the resotre job or just the car in general to verify its value?

Thanks Guys

Jake

I think $16,000 sounds like a very good price if it is truly fully restored... I don't know much about that either, but look at all the body panels to see if their straight. You don't want to see waves obviously. And of course check the paint to see if it was done well. Good luck on the buy!

I would shoot Mark a PM since he owns a first gen Camaro.

The price seems good if it really is in the condition he says it is.

yea i did a KBB type report (NADA) i think it is for classic cars and the price range was from 17,000 to 50,000 depending on the condition of the car so id say its not a bad price.

I would say that's a fair price if it is "mint". Like he said above, check the panels and paint. Don't forget to look under the car and also try to look at the floor boards if possible r at least bang on them a little bit. Another thing is to look underneath the trunk mat. You don't want to buy it and pull up the trunk mat and find yourself staring at the gas tank through the huge hole in the bottom of your trunk lol. Oh, and you might want to pull the codes off the body tag and you can check online to make sure it is a true RS also.

I paid just over $7000 for mine and was no where near perfect. Mine was also numbers matching at the time with a 327 and a powerglide.

Any other questions shoot me a PM like chad said.
