Next mod??
Next mod??
I was thinkin about doing another performance mod.. whats next best bang for your buck after new intake and cat back exhaust?? any suggestions? i was thinking throttlebody but im not sure haha
If you haven't already done the free mods, I would start with those. The throttle body bypass is the favorite. I don't know your budget, but here is a couple ideas:
Mail order PCM tune : $100 - $150
Long Tube Headers : $500 - $600
Electric Water Pump : $200
Performance Plugs and Wires : $80 - $100
Roller Rockers and supporting hardware : $400 - $500

Just do a simple search on this site for "free mods". You will get plenty of threads with good info. I personally did the Electric Water pump and did notice a difference. It is a very good mod to do.
Almost any mod will make more power of some sort. A throttle body will give you a few horses at most, not even close to 10-20. For the most gain, I would suggest headers as stated by just about everyone else in this thread.
Water pump will help, TB is kinda a waste at the point you are at. You shouldn't need to upgrade it until you are making over 350 horse. Yes- the TB can support the additional horsepower, but it doesn't give you 10-20 hp. Its a tricky way of advertising that gets a lot of people.
If you seriously want to make power, then save up for power parts and stop spending $200-$500 here and there for 3-5hp. Buy a cam, find a set of heads, then save up and buy some decent headers- ebay and forums are great for performance parts.
If you shop wisely and are patient you should be able to round up nice parts and good prices and make 400hp without spending much over $1500. I know it sounds like a lot, but it makes more sense to me to go that route then spending a couple hundred here and there 5 times to make maybe 320hp.
