NOS, fast and the furious brand or serious nitrous company?

I was wondering if I could get some opinions on NOS products. Does this company actually make good gear or have they turned into something for the F&F crowd?

NOS stands for Nitrous Oxide Systems. It is Holley's nitrous label. It's Holley, so it's been around a lot longer than ricers ;)

yea, NOS is like old, they are pretty good products i've heard from all over.

NOS, Nitrous Express, and TNT in my opinon are the best brands. For the FBody I personally would get the TNT kit.

I herd NX has a great kit for the fbody, but check around see what you like.

NOS has gotten a bad rap, because every little ounk with a Honda has it or Zex...

NOS is a great company, and as I have stated many times before, the three powerhouse's in the N2O world, are NOS, NX, and TNT...

depends on the type of setup and the level of shot you want as to who to go with...
LS1, can't beat a TNT Force 2 :D 100-350 HP jets with blueprinted race solenoids... best going right now IMO...
NX makes good wet kits, really disapointed with their directport setup, but still one of the best "Wet" manufacturers
NOS, NOBODY, I mean NOBODY makes a better dry setup than NOS... 5177 for the LS1 5176 for the LT1... great kits

As stated before, NOS is a holley brand, and has been around ALOT longer than the RICE phase... NOS makes SERIOUS race setups for carburated motors that spray 400+ HP shots...
So answer to the thread, definatly not rice company... A VERY serious N2O manufacturer

Most "Rice" N20 manufacturer... survey says ZEX

That's why I said "As stated before" I was giving you credit... sorry, I didnt say as stated BY... :lolsign:

Edlebrock kits are good, my friend had one on his truck and didnt have any problems with it, just got tired of it and went to a NOS 5177 kit...

Good kits, but not the best... you want it for the colors, go for it or get a TNT kit and have it powdercoated!

I have been doing some research on a company named dyno tune. It seems they make some very nice nitrous systems (many people say they rank even with NX). They are a small company so they are not very popular. http://www.speedshop.org/store/scripts/default.asp

I can get their wet kit and their master blaster purge system for around $500. :)

oh i didnt read it close enough, i thought you said as i stated before...my bad.

and if the edelbrock kit isnt that good because it doesnt deliver much power or isnt efficient, thats fine. i'd only go no more than like a dry 80 shot or less.

yeah, if you want it for the name or for the colors and don't plan on putting a huge shot through it, it would be a great kit, but when you start putting some serious power out, thats when you have to worry about bigger solenoids, backup solenoids, etc

if you ever saw the pro stock drag car that blew up running nitrous his bottle was blue (if that's teh company the pros use to cheat it has to be decent :p)

shortdog 12-28-2004 06:21 PM

Nitrous Express is the way to go.

niceroc 12-28-2004 09:36 PM
