Oil Leak Help

Ok, for the past month or so there has been this oil dripping from under my car when its started or hot. Well i got under the car and notice it coming from where the oil pan was but thats all I can tell everything under there is tight so I dont see that being the problem and it wasnt that bad but now its becoming a problem. After long drives u can smell some oil burning under the car so its now becoming a problem but I have no idea where its coming from or where to check can anyone help on this?

degrease the whole engine, if it leaks from say a valve cover, it will drip on the pan.Tight bolts don't mean it won't leak.Something else to do is put some cardboard under the car to see what area it drips from (driving can make it look like it's from somewhere else).the smell could be oil from oil dripping on exhaust

We have a old blankent sittin under the engine area and it seems to be coming from directly under the engine area.

what part of the engine is the question left, right, front, rear

SOMBirdV6 07-21-2005 10:48 PM

rear im guessing its the rear main seal or oil pan gasket.

archemedes 07-21-2005 11:24 PM

could be intake manifold also

DDxHellRaiser 08-10-2005 12:28 PM

zpossibly be ring vavle seals?

archemedes 08-10-2005 04:24 PM

ring or valve seals won't be an external leak they are internal seals to stop oil burning
