Ok. same problems, but i drive the car daily now and can explain them better. HELP!!

Hello again gang, heres what the 93 z 6spd is doing to me.

Takes about 10 trys to get it to start. Once it does start it idles perfect and revs up perfect. not a miss one, sounds great. You put it in gear it spits and sputters and runs like crap. AS soon as you clutch it, your back to sounding and running great. It does this for 5mins or less then I can drive the car all day with absolutely no problems. It will even startup on less tries. Now my inlaws took a spin with me and they thought it was acting like it was starving for fuel those firs few mins. I still have the security light on and the homemade ignition key. But I was told if it was the security problem it would never start at all. I think if it was the fuel it wouldn't idle or rev up properly. I hate to spend cash on a new opti, if not needed.

On another note, if I go out and fire the car up and let it idle for about 5 mins, i can jump in and go. It truly acts like an old carb car. Is the ignition module fake key causing all my troubles, or is it deeper. Thanks again and ahead of time for any help!

check fuel pressure, but does sound almost like a timing issue

HOW CAN I CHECK FUEL PRESSURE

THANKS.

get a gauge from the auto parts store, and screw it onto the adapter on the fuel rail (looks like a tire valve kind of)

That might be a cause of some problems...I would check that before digging into the opti- but honestly its really hard to say without being right there and being able to listen/drive it.

x2 on the fuel pressure. Are your injectors maybe acting up? When did you last change your fuel filter?

Other things I have heard that can cause this.
Bad battery connections
Fuel not reaching injectors properly (fuel pressure etc.)
Defective spark plugs
Vacuum Leaks
Air filter dirty
MAF sensor dirty or clogged

**For the MAF sensor, if you tap it with something like a scew driver and your car either stalls or idles really rough, your MAF sensor is pooched (shot lol)
