Which One

I'm looking at getting something to make my car more fun to drive.

Since it's going to rarely be at the track and it's all for just fun on the back roads here's what I've narrowed it down to.

Strano front and rear sway bars or 4.10 gears. I'm just looking for something to make the car more fun to drive on all these back roads around my house.

id go with the strano sway bars i think it will make it way more fun to drive than the gears id get the gears if i was going more for racing or something but though back road turns and stuff i think the bars would be more fun.

I dont think 4.10s will be fun with the way gas prices are soaring.

I'm not going to let that effect me. Plus you need to remember with my six speed I have two OD gears. I can cruise at 65 right now with the RPM just barely over 1,000.

I'm really just not sure how much to expect out of the two different mods. I know Strano bars are known as the absolute best out there and I know 4.10's will really get my car up to speed more because of the way the LS1 engine's powerband it but I just can't decide on which way to go.

4:10's get my vote, that ought to wake it up a bunch!

I guess a third option could always be the Xenon gfx's but I just don't know.

NCamaro94 04-26-2006 06:33 PM

I don't know about you, but on the back windy roads here I love being able to take them fast. I enjoy it more than going fast in a straight line. But thats me, so my vote is for suspension mods or xenon grfx.

Mike Jones 04-26-2006 06:59 PM

I added a new option and cleared out the votes in case you'd want to change it so please revote.
Thanks guys

Well Chad, I guess it would all depend on whether your back roads are windy or straight. If you want the twist's and turn's to be more fun, then definitely the sway bars.

If you want to feel more pull and think the stock suspension is sufficient for turns, then the gears. But if you're wanting to look better doing what you're already doing, then get the GFX.

If you're not planning on going to the track a lot, or running against people on the freeway, I wouldn't worry about the gears. And if you don't plan on running the back roads on a consistant basis, I'd say go with the ground effects.

This is nothing personal against anyone on this site, it's only my honest opinion.......but as far as I'm concerned, I've never liked the look of the 4th Generation Camaro without ground effects. (Actually that goes for 3rd Gen as well) I totally understand that there's more people out there who probably disagree, but IMO, they're very boring without them.

So I say go with the GFX. I like more of that lowered look to our cars. The "Only" time I prefer them without GFX, is when they have the Big Fat Tire Combo. I think a set of 275/60/15's in the back, and 215/60/15's in the front on a 5" rim give it that Pro/Street look....which rules all to me. :D

i would do the sway bars if there are a lot of turns, but if its long straightaways than do the gears

NoRiceInside 04-26-2006 09:14 PM

you guys are really overestimating sway bars. adding bigger sway bars wont give you the BAM handling you want, you'd have to get the whole suspension setup to get what you want.

get 4.10s. you may not have the high speed cornering, but once youre through the turn, you'll rocket out of it with 4.10s.

oh and a TA girdle is a waste of money IMO.

Knowklew 04-26-2006 11:22 PM

gears.......

mxracerbrian 04-26-2006 11:33 PM

gears

2000v6cam 04-27-2006 12:21 AM

i personally dont like gfx so i think either gears or sway bars would be better but thats just my .02

Amurican_Muscle 04-27-2006 01:19 AM

Gears and GFX. 4 sure. :P
