PCV ventilation system

I have been thinking allot abut the pcv system.. my car has the original PCV and ventilation removed before i got the car in my hands.
So i am thinking about how i should make a functional and good looking system wich cant be fully open as it sits right now.

As you see i only got filters on the engine. And because of the vissual inspection every year i have to make a system that will work well.

The problem is that i am no good at pcv systems(Ventilation ) systems. But i think i need a catch tank.

How is your cars configurated? show pics and draw some lines and sow on.

Thanks!

this is the stock PCV system. red outline is the hose that connects to the breather in the back of the LH valve cover (on earlier LS1s i think it connects differently). the green outline is the coupling that actually houses the PCV valve.

i dont really think a catch can is necessary. i had bad ping awhile back and i was ready to get a catch can but all i did was replace the 3 dollar valve and that fixed it.

Al right Thanks!. what would a catch tank do? can you replace the entrance to the intake with the can? I will do a beter search as whell at LS1tech.com.

Dont the ventilation system connect to the RH side cover?

depends on who installed the valve cover..

yeah actually theres a tube that connects both valve covers and then a tee fitting connects that to the intake.

a catch can goes inline from the pcv valve to the intake. a good one would have a seperator that would prevent oil from entering the intake. it collects oil.

they work good but my theory is that there shouldnt be any oil getting into the intake so long as the car is still stock. so im going to investigate this more before i get a catch can.

Okay since my car is'nt stock and since i have no system at all i will probobly build one with a catch can.

Thanks Anton

I have built my pcv system today (no pics yet, had no camera) But i got qurious if i put the system together in the right way.

It goes from the left hand side valve cover thruh a catch can, located infront of the right cylinder head, and the the pcv valve is located after the can but before it goes to the intake ( red arrow)

The red arow is where i connected my pcv valve, is that correct? Or should i have connected it to the TB (gren arrow) ?

Thanks, Anton
