:haha:

amen... just avoid the unemployment line ups around the block.

soon Ford will be there too... celebrating their new 'UNION' of unemployment

its not that.. I dont care about that.. those people that worked at GM who cares.

Its the fact that they dont actaully produce good cars. I have never been this depressed ever due to my truck.

I have a 1994 2.2L sonoma. It seems when it rains out and than sits in the wet to soak it than acts up. Like It has been doing this for over a month.. and i am :censored: sick of it.. I have virtually replaced the entire truck in parts and nothing solves it ever..

it wet out you driving along.. come to the stop sign than you start going and it just starts burping farting chugging and no power misfiring like a ..

so you stuggle and eventually get the thing home.. let it sit for a bit than come back later and its perfectly fine..

Sometimes I will have all my ready for work loaded in the truck.. fire her up in the morning and it burps farts barfs misfires and stalls.. god. give it gas and it misses and shits all morning..

most recently it has been doing the problem for 2 WET WET days stright.. couldnt even get her running smooth once.. so this morning i called CAA and CAAed it to the dealer.. for my peace of mind i tried one final time to start it up before it was loaded on the truck... no dice..

Than gm gets it i explain to them.. they dont get a chance to look at it till its dried off later in the day.. and guess what shes perfectly fine.. no codes no errors nothing.. WTF is this.. now i am out atleast $100 to have GM tell me my vehicle is fine when its not at all k. I said this in the dealership and people got angry "Great you guys know any good places to get information on doing a honda motor swap on this thing, cause i need something that runs decently atleast 3 out of the 7 days in a week" two guys scoffed at me and another was like dont do that sir.

So anyways.. I have replaced my coil packs and module.. didnt see the problem occur for a week

problem came back

so I thought it was fuel related

did the pump and filter

problem went away for a week or so

than it came back

did the plugs oil and wires

problem went away for another week

now its back again

GOD GM ing sucks.. i am so depressed worst company ever.. if I can get rid of this truck I am buying a 1990 corolla ASAP becasue that is a qulaity machine.

and thats why they are closing up shop.

Thats funny I have owned Gm most of my life and never had any problems. ESP with the s-seires pick-ups some of the most reliable on the market. Your talking about a truck that is over 10 years old. If your going to bash GM use some recent stuff to slader it with. My new impala SS is a very well built car and has alote better build quality then my moms nissan (which i might add is no less then $800 in repair bills everytime it hits the shop). Keep laughing at 30,000 unemployed and watch your job be handed to 8 or $9 an hour dummies. When a company as large as GM lays off the econmemy in general will take a hit. Back to your truck.. Rather then bashing the parts or veichle you may want to get yourself a new mechanic and not just go buying random things because you "think" it may be the problem.

wifes 99 Hyundai Tiburon

2 front end main bearings (found as defective, all replaced for free)
3 new transmission (found as defective, all replaced for free)
1 trans electronic shift component (found as defective, all replaced for free)
1 exhaust manifold (needs to be done again after service this past week, found as defective, all replaced for free first time)
4 broken lugnut covers (not taken care off)
1 alt (found as defective, all replaced for free)
1 new battery (found as defective, all replaced for free)
1 door regulator (paid for by us)
1 electronic ignition issue (fixed after this past weeks service)
2 cracked rotors (found as defective, all replaced for free)

the car is a lemon, have all service records and hyundai Canadas answer is, buy a newer hyundai. Car is at 99,000 and have had the issue since the car was brand new.
Their warranty is awesome and get a rental everytime.

But, yes, i also have a 01 Concorde LXi, and man.. that car is of such cheap quality, warranty is and chrysler treats everyone like ass.
CHRYSLER, FORD. I still rather buy an import based on warranty for an A-B car...

I like some of the domestic designs (srt-4, 03 cobra, vette, viper) but quality, fit and finish atleast on the first two surely are compromised... :knock_tee

the_smart_ass 12-01-2005 08:22 AM

to be honest though.. I go to mys10.com and i have never heard of so many guys complain about doing motor swaps on their trucks... 2001 and 2002s needing new engines like god wtf is that.. gm needs to take a page out of the 1990 toyota corollas book and start building correct motors and trannys.

on that note.. i wonder how hard it would be to swap the I believe its the 4JZE (correct me if I am wrong) from a 1990 corrolla into my truck..becasue damn push rod is just .. hi ferio burning on the side of the road hi!!

I had a 97 hyundai accent (wifes car) and at 180 000 km the tranny blew in it. i have put $3000 into it in the last three years. What a car. Anyway I got rid of it and bought a 97 integra to go along with my 04 EL. I have owned a 89 civic hatch and a 03 V6 accord. I work for Honda and will always drive honda/acura cars, as day in and day out they are reliable. I put 340 000 kms on my old civic and the only reason I got rid of it was the body was rusted out.

GM used to own the car market but in this day in age, the Japanese own the car market when it comes to loyalty.

lancer9225 12-01-2005 09:47 AM

messed up

monopoly 12-01-2005 12:34 PM

GM has its ups and many downs...i got a 05' sunflower and ive had the check engine light fixed under warranty 4 times already by the dealership and the in thing is back on again! car runs fine though havent had any problems yet at 35,000km's. just the stupid eng light.

But j-bodies usually are pretty good cars if u take care of them. i hope mine lasts me 5 years and thats all i care about.

Altho my 01' grand am SE on the other hand which i gave to my sis for free has had nothing but problems. I think ive replaced every in part on that shitbox and its only got 170k on it. was not happy with that car at all!

Nastyzed 12-01-2005 07:15 PM

I am on s10forums.com people do engine swaps because V8s are a popular swap. Considering the 4.3 is a 350 with 2cyls chopped off. I also drive a 2003 sonoma 4.3 daily for work which has had no problems other then routine maintenence. The interior is very very cheap thought. Being that it is a base model.

MaGaS 02-24-2006 03:30 PM

I have a 1993 Buick LeSabre. 3.8 for about 6 months now, I have not changed the oil yet (around 15 ks on it). Runs like a champ.

My last LeSabre was a 1992 (3.8 also they all are) I had it for 3 years, oil changes every 15,000 KM (regular 10w40) and i got it with 160K and sold it with 280K. In the 3 years I owned it I had to change 2 alternators and 1 coil pack and one wheel bearing.

You cannot kill this engine it just goes and goes

civtegra90 02-27-2006 06:03 PM

i used to work at a gm dealer, almost all of the vehicles they sell are complete crap. stuff like...

-the head and intake gaskets going at right around 100,000 on the 3.1 and 3.4L motors (1998 and up, usually montana/venture vans)

-the uplander vans blow up right after their sold cause the harmonic balancer (i believe) wasnt torqued tight enuf from the factory.

-almost all gm trucks will need oil and/or tranny cooler lines.

-safari vans will all need tie rods and ball joints at round 60,000 (and maybe again at 120,000).

-jbodies at the least will need lower control arm bushings at some point before 80,000, same with malibus, grand prixs, ventures, etc with that style control arm

-the pushrod 2.2s will blow the head gasket when started if it gets too cold out

im glad i own a honda, i dont mean to preach, but its a 90 at 390,000 and still runnin strong, my buddy had an 88 civic with 475,000 runnin strong. my mom has a sunflower, right now it doesnt like to start right sometimes, it'll chug and and fart before starting up and noone knows why yet, it'll do it for my old work (the gm dealer) too, they are completely stumped and they arnt stupid guys.

anywhoo, i guess my rant is done for now, fwew, had to at least get some of it off my chest, lol

T.Dot_E30 02-27-2006 06:25 PM

domestic's are only ment to be driven for a few years then dumped into the garbage.

:D

lol
